20th Century Design: Week 6 Complete

8 years

Week six of 20th Century Design is complete.

This week we learned about the very interesting topic of Australian design and cultural identity and myth. I found it very enlightening to think about what defines the Australian identity and analyse how design is used to embrace these myths or be used as a way to create them. We also looked at posters designed in years between  1930s – 1950s which are a classic example of how the cultural identity of Australia was promoted overseas, especially by the Government to entice visitors and increase immigration.

We now have three weeks off for consolidation week and holidays, and term starts again on the 4th of January 2016. So far I have been enjoying my study, but a break is always welcome. ?

I plan to work on Assignment 2 (Annotated Bibliography) during the holidays, so I can have it ready to hand in on week 1.

I hope everyone has a great end to 2015. ❤️
