I will begin studying my next class; Design Studio: Concepts and Narratives on Monday (14th March) and wanted to write a post before I begin, so that I can compare my knowledge at the beginning and end of the unit.
The aim of the unit is described below:
This unit of study introduces students to the fundamentals of design exploration, conceptualisation and layout for 2D and 3D outcomes. It introduces basic design representation methods and an understanding of how to integrate them for and with other design disciplines and skills. It introduces the development, integration and synergy of conceptual approaches to image, object and language based narrative design outcomes.
I will be very honest and say that I believe my knowledge to be limited here and I am certainly looking forward to undertaking this class to really improve how I approach design, especially with varying materials used in 2D and 3D design. I have spent much of the last 5+ years mainly devoted to digital art and design, so it will be a very healthy change to actually use some ‘traditional’ forms, for hands on learning and perspective.
Until next week, when the fun begins. ?
