Blowin' in the Wind

Blowin’ in the Wind

August has been an exciting month of adventures. Claire and I had another mini vacation heading to the beach to see Bob Dylan in concert. We had a great time enjoying the ocean vibes and watching a great show.

We stayed in another Airbnb that was a lovely old house in Corrimal. It felt very homely and was a beautiful place to relax after looking around at the beach and local shops.

On the 20th of August, we headed into Wollongong to see Bob Dylan in concert. It was a massive relief that the show was going ahead (after Pink became ill and we didn’t get to see her). I was very excited to see a musical and literary icon in person. Bob Dylan has been a pioneer who has woven his magic into the very core of music and poetic expression. I was not disappointed!

He played a total of twenty songs that travelled across albums new and old. I think it’s important to note that his voice has changed as he has aged and older songs were not performed in their original arrangements. However, there was something so magical about seeing him sing, play the piano and the harmonica. There were moments where he would sing and play the piano while entirely captured by the moment. I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t stop myself from dancing in my seat.

Camera and mobile phone usage were prohibited at the venue, so I don’t have any photos of the show. I do have some shots of the beach. 🏖

  1. Glad you enjoyed your mini vacation! It’s so cool that you got to see Bob Dylan. That must have been amazing. Your beach pictures look great too!

  2. It’s great that you and Claire got to hang out again and spend some time out at the beach. Glad you enjoyed the concert, especially with all of the songs that were played! Love the beach pictures.

  3. It’s a bummer that cameras and mobile phones are not allowed, but it allows everyone to enjoy the moment even better! Sometimes some concerts are just filled with spectators who are doing nothing but watching the concers from their phone screens, and even worse when their phones are blocking the view -_- Haha so I guess it’s a blessing in disguise that phones and cameras weren’t allowed, I’m sure you were able to enjoy the music and live in the moment <3

  4. I need to go to the beach again and not get an epic sunburn XD and take my dog Marley with us. She’d freakin’ love it, but in the end, I’m glad you had a lovely time and shared it with us.

I didn’t know that Bob Dylan still toured?

  5. I’m glad you had a good time at the Bob Dylan concert. I like the fact that camera/mobile phones were prohibited – it means you get to immerse yourself in the concert more without having your view blocked by some fan waving their phone in the air.

    Love your photos!
