In December I purchased an adorable book and owl calendar created by the very talented Joy of Whimsical Joy.

Her amazing book What Love Is Like, is absolutely perfect! The words and illustrations are inspirational and dreamy.

It makes you smile with each word you read and each new image you are greeted with.

It is such a lovely concept for children, but it can be appreciated at any age!

This was just a taste of what was included in the book! 😀

You can visit Joy’s blog for updates on when the book may be available again.

I did not realise when I asked Joy about an owl calendar that she made it as a custom order. It was really lovely!

So many adorable owls on great cards with soft colours and magic!

Unfortunately Joy does not have any copies of the book What Love Is Like available at the moment, but hopefully she will very soon <3 . You can visit her great Etsy shop Whimsical Joy Studios and browse all the pretty things. (How cute is that fox pillow!) This is not a sponsored post, I just wanted to share the work of a talented artist and friend. :3

  1. im so glad you liked everything! When you first asked me about the calendar, I didn’t have an idea but then our mutual love for owls sparked some inspiration

  2. Oh my gosh, those are so beautiful! The book is so innocent and heartwarming! The picture with the person holding the balloons is so cute, Joy is very talented!

    1. There are many more magical illustrations and words inside. I just picked a few of my personal favourites. 😀 She is really talented!

  3. Ahh this is so cute! 🙂 I love the calendar, I mostly use a calendar on my phone… if I had a paper one I would probably write things down anyway. This would make a nice gift though, and I know my family likes to use the family calendar. 😀

I love the book, too. Have you read Love and Misadventure by Lang Leav? Not as cute, but it’s a lovely little collection of poems and short pieces about love.

  4. Aw! That is so cute! I’ll have to check her stuff out! I love supporting independent Etsy sellers, so that makes her stuff even better! Thanks for introducing me to her! 😀

    1. My pleasure. I have to agree, when you can discover or purchase items directly from creative people and artists and actually support them, it’s very cool. :d

  5. I love Joy’s work! I bought a 2014 calendar from her last year and hung it up at work. I loved it. It was so cute!

The owl calendar she custom made for you looks so good! I love her style and hope to grab her book at some point 🙂

  6. The calendar is neat! I can’t remember the last time I actually used a calendar though. I remember one year having the previous years calendar still up 😛 I’m not very good at keeping up with them.

    1. Hahaha. Sometimes I do forget to change them. I have a cute desk calendar as well, that you just flip, it’s a kawaii one as well, so you get all the cute. xD

  7. I just checked out Joy’s Etsy store and I can see it’s full of beautiful art. She’s a very talented illustrator. 🙂

I absolutely adore your owl calendar!

  8. She’s so talented! And the book and calendar are so adorable! I agree with your comment that children books can be enjoyed at all ages :3 I always want to buy picture books but they’re so expensive and my sister always tells me that I don’t actually need them, haha.

Also!!! I wanted to thank you for your virtual hug!! *hugs* I’m not sure you remember but I actually feel so much better because of your words! So thank you for being so sweet and awesome!
