Oh hey, it’s only been six months since my last post. πŸ˜‚ I thought it was the right time to share my 2019 update! In the past several months, I had a πŸŽ‚birthday, had adventures in πŸš‚Canberra, got a πŸ§œπŸ»β€β™€οΈtattoo, and finished a class on πŸ“·Digital Photography. I have also been busy creating designs for Cute Magic and sharing free resources.

πŸŽ‚ Turning 32

I turned 32 on the 11 of March and spent the day with mum. We relaxed, watched a few movies and just enjoyed our time together. It’s nice to spend time with the people you love.

πŸš‚ πŸ’– Canberra Trip

On the 13th of March, I headed off to Canberra to see my good friend Claire. It was a long train ride (about 10 hours), but it wasn’t too bad, with some good music to help zone out.

Claire showed me a number of the sights around Canberra, and I was impressed by how close everything was. You didn’t have to travel far to get where you needed to be.

Canberra

I particularly loved Rainforest Gully in the Botanic Gardens. It was such a relaxing and peaceful space. Lots of greenery and the soft mist was beautiful.

We also decided to get tattoos. We both love the mythical magic of mermaids and have a fascination with origami and geometric shapes. We spent many hours trying to find designs that we liked, but in the end, decided to come up with our own. We created some sketches and headed off to a tattoo parlour. We were a walk-in, and lucky to get it done that day.

I won’t lie. It was a bit painful, but not in a bad way. Because it was geometric design with only lines, it didn’t take very long. It’s not actually as blurry as it appears in the photo.

I am happy with the design and placement on my wrist. I think the hard part is once you have one you want all the tattoos…

πŸ“· Digital Photography

I completed a uni class focussed on Digital Photography. For the first time, I was forced to use my camera in manual mode, and understand the importance and power of exposure (shutter speed, aperture, depth of field and ISO).

I found that I developed an incredible appreciation of this art form. Combining the creative, technical and post-processing to create some shots I was proud of!

I finished the class with 90%, and if you’re interested, you can view my journey on my study blog.
