Simplify

8 years

I made the decision that I wanted to simplify many of the online projects that I am running.

With my first week of Uni under my belt, I realised that I need to be able to dedicate as much time as I can to study. It doesn’t mean that I want to close every website I run, it just means a little shuffling and asking for help.

Giraffe Host
Giraffe Host has now been moved to a hosting page on my blog. The application form is closed at the moment, but I have no intention to stop hosting anyone.

Cup MB
Cup MB is still up and active and I have no intention to close it. I am just looking for 1/2 people that might be interested to help out as administrators, so that the load of running a message board can be shared.

Although Blog Matter is not acting as I originally intended (comment exchange) it is a community for bloggers and I hope that one day I can turn it into the comment exchange that I had planned. Because a community can take a lot of work, both in moderating, promoting and fresh content, I would also like to find 1/2 people that might be interested to help out. Particularly in the area of sharing new content and blog posts.

If you are interested to help out at Cup or Blog Matter, contact me and let me know.

I also recently discovered that my contact form does not seem to have been sending messages. So if you did try and contact me recently via the contact form on my site, I did not receive it. šŸ™

  1. He’s going wonderful. ^_^
The pup is a handful, but the enjoyable kind; I love petting and playing with him. <3

  2. I don’t blame you for wanting to simplify your online projects now that you’re in school. I’d be the same way since school is such a time consumer and it sucks up your physical and mental energy! Good luck with your schooling, Kya! ^^

  3. Good luck with the studies! šŸ™‚ You do have lots of projects so it’s understandable you might need to give them a bit less attention. Always happy to help out with anything Giraffe needs and Cup šŸ™‚

  4. *fistpumps* Uni! Ganbatte!
I think it’s a wonderful decision in the right direction.
I am glad things are sorting out! šŸ˜€

  5. I’ve been wanting to simply my online projects too! The past couple years, I’ve been trying to merge sites together, so that I am managing less of them. I hope you find enough admins to help out, and good luck with your studies!

    1. Hopefully you will be able to simplify the projects that you currently have. It can seem like a lot of work to do it, but if you can it makes things a lot easier. šŸ™‚

  6. I want to wish you the best of luck in the simplification of all of your online projects! I know how much each and every single one of them means to you, and I cannot even begin to imagine how difficult that is must be for you to step back and watch other people manage them. However, I also know that you’re anxious to do well at Uni and I want you to know that if you pursue your studies with the same dedication and passion that you devote to your online projects then you’ll be unstoppable! I wish you lots of luck, good grades, fun memories, and that you find the correct people to help with your online projects. šŸ™‚

  7. Good luck with university! I’m sure you will be able to run these three projects no problem! (Plus your blog as well). Simplifying things would definitely make things easier on you while being able to keep the projects online. Definitely finding help with Cup and Blog Matter would help a bit. I really liked the idea of Blog Matter but bummed out about not having the right script for it. I was thinking about a script that would make BlogMatter work, but it’ll be hard considering there are some mechanisms to include that are just as important (eg. if someone doesn’t want any interactions from another person). Good luck!

    1. Thank you. I wish I could get Blog Matter working how I planned, but it is a little tricky trying to get a script to work in the right way, the closest comparison is probably something like a Secret Santa script.

  8. Yay for simplifying! I hope your workload has already decreased with consolidating Giraffe Host to a simple page on your website. šŸ™‚

I don’t think I will have much time to spare to help you with Cup MB or Blog Matter, but if you need a small helping hand with checking over anything, advice or opinions or feedback and thoughts, feel free to contact me. I am always up for a chat and just an email away! xx

  9. I’m a little sad to see Giraffe Host go, but simplifying to prevent burnout is most important! I’m afraid I haven’t been around Cup and Blog Matter much because having so many sites to check overwhelm me. šŸ™ I still lurk though!

  10. I wish you the best with uni!

I have been trying to simplify my projects lately, too. I have Zigative, which… ugh. I need to sort out a way to gather volunteers or something. >.< I just lack time for a lot of my projects right now and have even adopted out two of my TCGs, which I need to send the login information for…

Simplifying makes life a little easier and nicer, but actually doing it feels a lot like a chore. šŸ™

    1. I hope that you are able to simply some projects too. Hopefully you might also get some help with Zigative as well!

  11. How is University going?? Are you having fun?

I would offer to help, but I’ve been so busy with work I’ve not had the chance to visit in ages šŸ™

  12. I’ve done some simplification myself as well. So, I get where you’re coming from. šŸ™‚ I find it’s important not to stretch too thin, otherwise things can get out of hand, or just become no fun anymore. Especially when you have work or school to think about. Nothing wrong with asking for help either. I would love to offer, but as I said, I needed to rearrange my plate as well. I’m sure you’ll have no trouble finding assistance though, and I wish you good luck with everything!
