I created a new website called which is a very simple art prompt site, to hopefully inspire anyone who may be in a creative slump.

I decided to make because sometimes I don’t know what I want to design and I just want to be able to have a simple prompt. I had looked for many websites to do this, but couldn’t find anything that provided the prompts I was looking for, mainly one word objects. It may not be for everyone, but I know it will be handy for me, so maybe it can help others too. πŸ’–πŸ™‚

The design may no be perfect on all devices, but I will do some more tweaking to try and make it compatible. I did have a lot of fun picking the fonts to use and tried to pick some that made the design a bit interesting and fun to use, while making sure that the prompt was really clear. I have always enjoyed experimenting with colour in designs andΒ felt like the pallet I have chosen fits well.

I have also finally been working on a theme for my blog and I am getting there… slowly. I have a week off from uni in the coming week, so hopefully I can spent a lot of time working on it.

  1. Have you used prompt websites before?
  2. Have a suggestion for a prompt to be included on
  3. Created anything recently?

  1. Congratulations on the new Web site. It sounds like it will suit your needs perfectly. Me, I’ve only done prompts for writing and, eh, it’s hit or miss for me.

    1. Thanks! πŸ˜€ It can be hard to find prompts that really suit your needs, especially if you tend to write in a particular way. Hopefully you can find something out there that works. πŸ™‚

  2. I love this idea. I’ve been trying to use art as a way to cope and this is super helpful because I don’t always know what to draw. I think I’ll buy a special art journal or some canvas just to use for the prompts.
    Thanks! <3

  3. It’s amazing. I never used it before, but it could really come in handy. It’s a very helpful idea.

I hope your theme will come out sooner, I can’t wait to see it.

  4. I love this! My 11 year old daughter is VERY artistic and loves to draw with all sorts of tools/utensils – pens, colored pencils, paints, a digital tablet (Wacom), etc. I’m going to share this with her. πŸ™‚

  5. I love the art prompt! It’s such a great idea and the design of the theme is gorgeous! It’s a good place to go when ideas are not in existence. It would be nice to also create an app like this for your phone with amazing UX design.

    1. Thank you! πŸ˜€ If I was super awesome at making anything like an app it would be fun haha. I honestly have no idea how. It might be something I work out one day. n’D

  6. I love how clean and simple you keep your designs! Glad to hear it’s handy so far. I was thinking, maybe it can be a blog prompt too ;)… (idea, idea!!!).

I haven’t used a prompt website before, but I would like to see one for blogging… Though, I usually dig around Pinterest for blog post ideas XD. I think your site is perfect as it is. I need to find time to create something!

  7. The design of your prompt site is nice and clean! I’m looking forward to what you’ll do with your blog theme now πŸ˜€

When I was in fandom, I used to frequent fandom fests and such where we’d be given prompts or we can choose a prompt from a huge list, and those helped me write quite a bit πŸ˜€ Sometimes, though, I’d come up with my own prompt XD

I think this is a good idea for those who wants to expand their creative side πŸ™‚ I think it’d also be good to expand the site by allowing people to submit their works? And maybe not even limit it to art, but also include written works and even digital media!

    1. Thanks for your suggestions. I wanted to keep that one as a simple art prompt, but it would be great to have more ideas being added. I might be able to figure something out a bit later. πŸ˜€

  8. That is so cute! I miss making websites, but I’m so behind on coding now and I devote all my spare time to reading rather than doing other things.

    1. But that is a very important task. Things change, as do out priorities. Plus, being able to make your own designs isn’t the same as it used to be. You can pretty much make a website how you want it to be without having to code it. Studying design has rekindled my interest in website design though, and I am enjoying it.

  9. What a brilliant idea! It’s simple yet it’s something useful. Also looks like you had fun making it. One suggestion though, is if you could provide more words in the prompt. Maybe you could let the user pick how long they want the prompt to be. I haven’t used art prompts before, but I have seen books that have almost blank pages that have text on them to prompt the artist to draw something relating to the words on the page.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion. There are a number of art prompts out there that do allow you to do something like you are looking for. I kind of wanted the opposite. Just one word, to draw that object or thing, or be inspired by that object or thing. πŸ˜€

  10. I love your prompt website, it’s simple but effective and I’m glad you found something that works for you! I actually feel like you could do something similar with blog post ideas. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ That might help a lot of people who consider themselves writers.

I haven’t finished creating anything recently but I am working on a WordPress theme for someone. πŸ˜€

Maybe you could use some themes in the prompts? Like β€˜leather’, or β€˜Japanese’ or β€˜transport’, for example?

  11. Your Artprompt site is so cute! I love the choice of colors and fonts. I like the idea of a simple, one word prompt. Sometimes you just need a little bit to get yourself motivated! I’ve used things similar to prompt sites, like photography challenges or when I was practicing drawing people, I used a site that gave me a random pose to draw. Things like that are helpful!

    1. Thank you. Sometimes having a prompt can be really helpful. Especially if you find yourself creating or doing some form of activity often and you don’t know what to do next.

  12. This is a nifty idea. Sometimes I wish something like this existed for blogging or flash fiction writing ,because while I have ideas stored away somewhere, I often find myself wanting a new, fresh idea instead of something I may or may not have been thinking about already. ;x

  13. Wow this is such an amazing idea! Definitely bookmarking because even though I can’t draw, it can be useful for other creative inspiration. Love it, Kya!
