As the dark storm clouds began to drift and the turmoil lingered with the fall of our electricity, I headed outside on a macro adventure. With my Canon DSLR and macro lens in hand and optimism in my heart, I wondered what miniature worlds I would capture…
I wandered through the garden, finding plants, bees and bugs
I was hypnotised by natural textures
And followed by a loyal friend

Wow those look amazing! Its crazy how stuff looks up close!
I love these! Of course, the kitty one is my favorite. But I love all the nature pictures too. Ben and I are looking into buying a nicer camera. Any suggestions?! We’re definitely not pros haha.
Thanks lady!

I would recommend a DSLR. You can get an entry level model which is capable of taking wonderful shots! I have a Canon EOS 700D with two standed lenses and a Macro. ๐
I love macro photography. These are great. You have a good eye for the art and what makes good photos! I really like the texture ones! I would have never considered shooting macro for textures. :3 And your kitty companion is cute! Thank you sharing <3
I love those pictures! I wish I had an eye for photography like that. I really love the colors and how clean and crisp that seem. The bee one is probably one of my favorites. โฅ
I am IN LOVE with the results of the macro photography! Love how the bee is so focused! Though, I can’t say the same about spiders because eek! The textures look like something people would use for their backgrounds or the likes! Thanks for sharing, Kya :).
These photos look great! I’ve never done macro photography, but I think it’s so interesting. My favorites of the set are the first two photos!
Wow, these photos are impressive! I love the one of the bee! Nature is beautiful ๐
Those are some amazing photos, I especially love the one of the bee and the ones of the textures of wood. I felt like I could reach through the screen and touch it!
Wow, macro photography is so fascinating and I love your photos! Loving the textures ๐
Macro photography is so much fun!!! I really love it but I hope the weather this spring and summer will be more spider-friendly than it was last year, when I almost only was able to photograph flowers – and only sometimes because most of the time it was too windy.
Your photo nr 3 is lovely!! I love that dark green.
I love all of these. The close-up textures look stunning, and I love the cat photo at the end. The spiders’ web looks amazing as well.
I’d love to get into photography, it looks so interesting, and it’d be great to learn how to take photos properly. I’m really rubbish at angles and picking the right moment for a photo, I usually just take the quickest photos possible!
Gorgeous and you just reminded me of how much I enjoy taking pictures of texture because of the seemingly random patterns that you can pick out, especially if its a close up shot. Super pretty <3
These are wonderful pictures, I especially love the third. The second texture is lovely, too. It’s incredible what nature can create. You’re so talented, I’m off to take a look through your Flickr!
I literally just wrote a post about photography tips on my blog and I’m afraid you’ve blown all mine out haha, your photos are a million times more gorgeous than mine and I’m sliiightly jealous lol. You’re so talented I swear. Can I ask what you use to edit your photos also? (And could you let me know on my blog because I don’t get follow up comments to my email haha – not a reach for comments, just a reach for wanting to know how to make my photos less crap lol).

I love all of these! ๐ I don’t know the difference between macro and micro and which are close-up photos, but I love the photos wherein the details are visible, and I always love nature photography. I enjoy looking at your photos, because they inline with my own taste and style.
I love the photos! Itโs a good idea to head outside when you anticipate a blackout ๐ Even then itโs just a good idea to motivate you to practise more photography. I havenโt used my DSLR in a while and I always used to love taking macro shots ๐ญ Since I moved I actually donโt get to see a lot of nature because there are more buildings around me. There must be a lot of opportunity to capture nature where you live though โบ๏ธ
WOW! Macro photography is really something, innit? Loving these shots so much!
