The year is quickly creeping to a close, and this was my October 2015.
October was a reminder month, of all the things I need to finish before I begin study in November. While I am only a part time student, I have to dedicate a lot of time to it because I have not studied in a long time and want to gain confidence by doing well. The wonderful thing is, that I was able to complete my main objective: finish my room renovation. I also gave myself a kick up the bum and finished my children’s book I have been working on for oh, the past ten years. ? Woo. I will have more details about the book, possibly next month.
It is October 31, so it would not be right if I did not wish everyone a very spooky celebration.
Life Updates
- Completed my bedroom
- Ticked another item off my 30 before 30 with my cloud stationery set
- Finally finished and ordered my Children’s book!
The first copy is a test, after that more details! π - Ordered my designs on Christmas cards for the Christmas exchange
Reding:
I read one book this month. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North and I really liked it. It was dark, complicated and often gritty. I like books that are part dystopian and go to places that make you question the realities of the world created and the people within them. I would recommend this book.
Movies:
I watched ten movies in October and my favourite was Jurassic World. When watching this, I tried to think of it as a movie outside the original Jurassic Park universe. It’s not always possible to do that because it IS part of the series. I found it annoying at first that there had to be genetically modified dinosaurs, but the movie actually answered this for me, and I didn’t feel as annoyed about it. I guess it was probably a point that a lot of people had made, for it to have to justify itself. ?
TV
I have been watching; American Horror Story Hotel, Scream Queens and Mr Robot. I thought I would really love the latest series of AHS, but there is something about it that I can’t connect with as much as past shows. I still enjoy many elements about it, and I will wait until I have watched it all for final judgement. Also started watching Scream Queens. This show is kind of hilarious in many ways. Horror, humour and crazyness. Aaaaand, I binge watched Mr Robot. I loved this show! It was geeky and it was dark. I want moooore.
Music:
I finally listeneed to the album 1989 by Taylor Swift and I liked it. I started to listen to music again and was enjoying Apple Music until I realised it was eating a huge amount of my internet usage. Bum.
Gaming:
None.
Failed:
Saving, creative writing and commenting on blogs.

It’s great you completed your room renovation and your book! So proud and happy for you, Kya! I think your successes even out your “failures”. Though, personally, I don’t think they should be failures since . . . well, instead of creative writing, you expressed your creativity in a different way. And I don’t think you should feel obligated to comment on every blog!
Anyway, I wish you luck with your studies! I’ll be hoping on my end that you won’t suffer any technical difficulties this time! ^^
Thank you. :’) Also, your help is forever appreciated. <3
I am inlove with your room. The colors of your furniture are well matched to each other. It is organized and it is inspiring to stay there. Good job on that. May I ask, where do you watch Series, i will give Mr. Robot a try . All i watch these days are Korean series lol. Taylor Swift’s songs has always been great! Happy Halloween to you. I wish to be more active in blogosphere this November
Sometimes I watch the shows on TV (Australian) and some shows I have been watching using an online streaming site called Presto. Mainly because it has unmetered usage with my internet provider. I am not sure if it is on Netflix or not, but it could be. π
My month went well! A lot better than I had expected, actually. π However, I was out a lot with family (which was a lot of fun) which is why I haven’t been up-to-date on what’s going on with my fave blogs.
Oh my goodness. You made a children’s book?! I want to see it! π (That’s also been a lifelong dream of mine lol)
I’m really curious about Scream Queens. It looks like lots of fun! I just watched Heathers this month and Scream Queens seems to be inspired from it. My brother watches Mr. Robot XD
I am sure you will be able to catch up when you can. π
Hopefully I will have more news about the book in the next few weeks. You would make such an awesome children’s book. I want to try and focus on making some traditional style/watercolour art for the next book I am doing. So I will be taking a lot of advice from your tutorial posts!
Gaaahhh I’m soooo excited for your book! π I’m looking forward to your watercolor illustrations π
Congrats on the things you achieved in October! Your bedroom looks so good, and that’s great that you completed another 30 before 30 and finished your children’s book π I’d love to see your book!
I enjoyed Jurassic World too! My favorite movie I watched in October was The Martian. Now I want to read the book for that. My October was pretty busy though! I was out of town for a couple things, and work has been busy too. I’m hoping November will be less busy!
Thank you. π
I want to see The Martian. I enjoyed reading the book and the trailer for the film looks very cool.
YAY what a productive month! I can’t wait to see your book, I hope it does really well π
I didn’t know you watched Scream Queens, me too.. sometimes I’m not sure why, it’s the strangest show and I have to just pretend these types of things happen in life π But once I stopped thinking of it seriously I started enjoying it a lot more. I really like Chanel #3!
I FINALLY watched an episode of Penny Dreadful and I liked it. Looking forward to watching more of it. π Yeah, you can’t really take Scream Queens seriously, because it’s crazypants. I think my fav if Chanel (#1). But I did like #2.
Well sounds like you got some awesome stuff done! Like your amazing room and your also amazing stationary. XD
Thank you. π
Sounds like a good month! Finishing your book is so great! π
Thank you! I am looking forward to seeing it in print and taking the next steps with it. π
Congrats on getting your children’s book and room complete. I started reading a book about psychology, but haven’t completed it because I’ve been too distracted by stressful things. I’m hoping to get some achievable goals achieved in November. (Perhaps, at least, finish this book.)
Thank you. I hope you are able to do the things you want and need too. π
Your room looks so cute, I’m so jealous π
Where do you order cards from? I was trying to do my own Christmas card designs, but wasn’t sure which service to use to print them.
Thank you. π I currently order my cards with VistaPrint because I have used them several times and the shipping is quick in Australia. There are many different places around the world that offer good printing though. π
Your room is seriously goals, I’m wanting to have a simple but super cute bed room like you. I’ve been trying to for a while! But its so hard to declutter when you share a room (as I do with my sister!)
I recently blogged about my October!
It would be really hard to declutter when you are sharing a room. I managed to reduce the number of things I had in my room, but stored a lot of things in a garden shed in large containers. xD
I’m obsessed with your room! All white with pops of color? It’s absolutely gorgeous. I also can’t wait to see a post about your book! I’ve always been a children’s book aficionado. I watched the Martian in October and thought it was spectacular. Hopefully this November I go back to blogging consistently and actually stick to it, lol!
Thank you. π I hope that you have been able to blog. <3
I loved Jurrasic World too! And I’m also thinking of doing a 30 before 30 list and I’m super excited. I want to buy a whole island. Hopefully it’s not too much of a stupid idea lol
That would be great if you did a 30b30! π Hey, if you’re going to dream big you have to set your goals high!
Your room turned out so beautiful Kya! I love renovations, so I really enjoyed you sharing your reno process and the stages. It really looks great!
I actually wasn’t a huge fan of the original three Jurassic Parks, but I LOVED Jurassic World. It might have had something to do with Chris Pratt… but it was such a good movie! π
My favorite book that I read this month was The Time Traveler’s Wife (can’t remember who it’s by) and it was such a beautiful book. I haven’t read a book in a long while that made me feel so many things – couldn’t recommend it enough!
Thank you. As a kid the Jurassic Park movies where like anything I had seen before and it was completely amazing. I still admire the special affects that were used in them because even though the movies are getting older it hasn’t dated too much.
I haven’t read that book yet, but I hopefully will someday!
Love how you completed your room!! Everything is so white, and looks like it had its perfect place.
I hear you on how the year has gone by so fast, it was in a blink of an eye and soon it will be 2016. When does your studying begin and unto when?
Thank you. π My study began in early November and continues for several years. How long will really depend on how many classes I take at a time. Right now the best option is part time, which makes it take longer, but I don’t mind. π
Hurray for completing your bedroom! Your stationery set looks really adorable :3. ALL OF YOUR WORK LOOKS ADORABLE!!!!
Jurassic World was a really neat movie. I mostly watched it because the cars were all from the Mercedes-Benz fleet but the whole storyline was interesting. At some point, genetically modified anything will become a problem because the goal was to control them for entertainment purposes. When will that ever be the case?!
My October was fun, hoping November will be the same!
Thank you. π
My October was okay. I’m looking forward to November. I’m glad you got so much done and had a good October.
Hopefully you do have a good November! π
Your room turned out so well! I felt like October went by so quickly. I literally blinked and it was gone.

Thank you. π
October was a mixed bag for me, but overall fun and nice. I actually did get to start one book, and was recommended another. Hopefully I can start them in November.
Your book looks so cute! I can’t wait to hear more about it!
I hope you do/did get a chance to read them. π
I didnβt read any books but I am starting to read a non-fiction one about power (more workplace-related). Iβll probably be reading more non-fiction. π ALSO YOUR ROOM IS SO AWESOME.
I seem to have a lot of work-related presentations to do this month. I hope going back into studying will be alright for you, but I imagine you are pretty keen anyway. π I have booked a driving test for next week… ?
Thank you. I was so glad to hear that you passed! π
My October was stressful from the busy workload and trying to get everything ready for my expo show at the end of the month for my shop. Ended it by spending Halloween in Amsterdam which was alright but not really my scene with all the alcohol and weed…
I haven’t read in a long while, I’m more accustomed to watching series and movie π Your room looks super cute and tidy! I love it!
It would be a really interesting place to visit, Amsterdam. But at the same time, the reputation that it has might be a bit much too. xD
Uwahh your room’s super cute! Congratulations on finishing with the remodeling! And your cloud stationery set is ridiculously adorable; you’re kind of really, really talented.
Thank you! <3
Amazing how fast this year has passed by. It has been a real roller-coaster, but I am still alive. My October was nice and calm – had my birthday, always a good thing with cake and presents. π I read a Swedish criminal, all about murder (Svinajakten is the books name) and it was a slow starter but in the end I got shivers. November is already here. In a month it is time to start decorate more and more for Christmas. I hope that the rest of the month will be rather ordinary. I am not up to anything crazy right now. Have a lovely November!
I hope your November has been good! π
1989 is one of my alltime favourite albums, and I really want to read The First Fifteen Lives, glad you liked it. I have to pick it up soon.
Your room looks really good. The bookshelf looks really cool, and the shelves over your work station makes me smile!
Thank you. π The shelves with lots of cute things are like a happy inspiration place. ^_^
