Wow, November is already here. That means Christmas is almost here and I need to think about what design to make for holiday inspired cards. I think I might create two designs. One cute and the other a little bit simple/indie/hipster/pretty/girly (is that a thing?). I also must have these printed not the week before Christmas….
Another cool thing happened. The photograph I entered into the competition on deviantART was selected as one of the semi-finalists! I am really chuffed that I did make the semi-finalist list. I don’t think I will place in the top three, but that doesn’t matter because being a semi-finalist is a big honour to me. It was also one of the few times I have tried to enter a creative competition, maybe I should look for more photography competitions either local or Australian wide?
If you like to write, November also means something a little special. National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Write 50,000 words in one month and have yourself a novel! I have been trying at this for years and have never reached the 50,000 word mark, but it has been good (and sometimes frustrating) as a creative challenge. If you are also taking part you can follow my profile kyabean.
Lastly, my friend Claire created a blog. ALL THE STALKS? ;D

I really can’t decide if I want to do NaNo this year. I bought their writing book so I might just work through that instead π
P.S. Well done on your competition success! π
Maybe if your hear is not in it, you should try again another year. Or maybe just use some of the time just for creative bursts to write. π Thank you!
I think you SHOULD enter more competitions. I rarely do because I have no confidence in myself ack, but a friend once entered randomly for fun and ended up as one of the finalists. I really like your scenery and wildlife photography, I think you would do well in that category since you love in an awesome area and there are lots of opportunities!
I don’t even know this Nanowritomemo as I always think it is called that. I have to check it out…
You are such an amazing photographer/designer/crafter that you should enter them all the time because you are great! I can understand how you feel though, I kind of have that too. But I might try if I can find some. π
It’s basically a thing, where you write 50,000 words in one month. There is no actual prize, other then the fact you have spent a lot of time in a creative place. π
Congrats on the Billy Blue comp! Good luck with progressing through the competition, I hope you do well!
Thank you so much! π
Congratulations on being a semi-finalist Kya! I think that getting that kind of recognition really makes you realise how much talent you have and that your work is appreciated. I am sure it will encourage you to enter more competitions and I hope you do well in any more you enter in the future :))
I have been working on a novel outside of NaNo for some time, and I donβt think I have ever been too keen on participating in NaNo, but I always encourage people who do. So good luck and I really hope you reach the 50k mark this time <3 <3
Thank you so much. As someone who’s photography I admire, that means a lot. π
NaNoWriMo is not for everyone, and you have to have the time for it as well. I think it’s really wonderful you are still working on the novel, I hope one day I can read it. π
Woo! I’m going to follow you on NaNaWriMo even though I’m not doing it this year π (also I’m going to add it to the list of things I can’t wait to have the time to do again)
Also I think yes enter more contests, just so more people are able to look at your photography arts π
<3
WOO. You also have to share your writing with me when you do it, bwahah. ;D
Aw, thank you. π
I added you as a buddy on NaNoWrimo — I’m tonightless. π I don’t think I’ll be able to finish this year, tbh (my first year trying!) but it’s a good motivation. I haven’t got off to a great start, but whatever.
Congratulations on being a semi-finalist! I’d definitely consider entering more contests — you clearly have talent.
Christmas equals Christmas shopping, too, which is the hardest thing in the whole wide world.
Take care! xx
I guess the main thing is that you do have some writing time. That can often be a big thing in itself. So whatever happens, I hope you have all the writings! π
Aw, thank you so much.
Yes, shopping, ahhh, christmas shopping. xD
I associate you with cute things, so my guess is that you will do another amazing cute design. Back when you were running Bubble and Klue, I visited the sites frequently not because I needed any of your resources, but to look at your adorable adorable designs.
Good luck on NaNoWriMo! I hope that you manage to finish.
Aw, thank you so much! π
I’ve been seeing loads of shops decorated with Christmas decorations, it’s quite exciting π
Congrats on being a semifinalist!!
Good luck with NaNoWriMo – I’m attempting it this year as well but I don’t expect to win, as I’m in the middle of my Stuvac and should be studying, hehehe.
Thank you! π
I did Nanowrimo way back when in 2009 and succeeded. I have not looked at my novel since, though. Maybe one day! Seeing all of the blog posts about people writing makes me want to see what I’ve actually done. I’ll be doing Christmas shopping soon, myself. I love buying things for people and sending cards. π Congrats on your award for your photograph, too!!
That is really great that you did win in 2009, you should look back on it when you have time. I am sure after all these years, it would be really interesting to read!
Thank you! π
Kya! It has been forever since I last visited your blog and either I hadn’t seen this design before or I forgot about it because I’m actually blown away by how much I love it.
Anyway, congratulations on being a semi-finalist! Good luck in the remainder of the contest and good luck with NaNoWriMo!
It is a really cool design! I haven’t made my own in a long time, so this fits well. π
Thank you!
Congrats on being a semi-finalist! π Your photography is always amazing.
Good luck on NaNoWriMo! I hope that you manage to finish.
Thank you! π
Congrats on the photo! π
I have a new blogpost. Itβs called #BIRTHDAY2013. You might want to check it out? And leave a mark, maybe. π
Thanks!
