I think I got overly excited about the fact I was paid again, because I just brought a shit load of books. I had every intention of buying heaps of them from Amazon but guess what? Like Nathalie mentioned in her comment to my previous post, the postage is not as good as you would assume. Once you hit the last part of the checkout you realise that they are giving postage on an each book basis and it adds up to be a fortune. So I went on back to my favourite Australian store, Seek Books. I accidentally spent a total of $268.80 AUD. But I feel I brought some really wonderful books that make it worth it! ;D In random order: Harry, a History: (The True Story of a Boy Wizard, His Fans, and Life Inside the Harry Potter Phenomenon) by Melissa Anelli, White Tiger by Aravind Adiga, A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, Ttyl by Lauren Myracle, The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi, Animal Farm by George Orwell, Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and Aranzi Cute Stuff by Aranzi Aronzo. I am really excited to read a number of these books especially White Tiger. I actually paid the most for it, but I believe it will be worth every dollar!
I have developed some weird cold, I don’t think it will be around for long. Just one of those annoying little things. But I am happy now, with the book love. :nerd:

Book worm! π
Memoirs of a Geisha… I heard the book is better than the movie. I think I’m gonna give it a shot π
And I think I’m the only person in the world who haven’t read Harry Potter :S
Ah! Books! There is nothing more wonderful then the moment you become the new owner of a pile of fantastic books. It gives me shivers. π Memoirs of a Geisha, is a beautiful novel, by the way.
Oooh, books! π So worth every penny. Once I build up a cash reserve from my new job for Christmas presents, I’m treating myself to a book spree. :3
Let’s see, I’ve read “Memoirs of a Geisha,” and it’s one of my favorites; so good! I’ve actually been thinking about rereading it soon…
I also read “Animal Farm” two years ago for school. I wasn’t a big fan, but it was an interesting read. I preferred “1984,” by the same author. π I’ve also heard of “Brave New World;” you’ll have to let me know how if it and the other books are good! π

Oh wow you spent so much on books! I couldn’t imagine myself spending THAT much on books, seriously. I know, I know, I lack in that aspect. Too bad i’m not much of a bookworm though :s Enjoy reading, Kya!

I agree with Lauren about ‘1984’, though I think you should still enjoy ‘Animal Farm’. I definitely recommend you get ‘1984’ the next time the need for spending a ridiculous amount of cash on books arises. π
You know, I haven’t read ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ or even seen the movie… So I expect a 10 page report on my desk by this Friday.
And no, I won’t accept the cold as an excuse to not do it!
(Feel better soon, hun!)
You will *definitely* enjoy The Diary of Anne Frank. I know I did. It’s worth the buy, trust me.

Wow! That’s a lot of books! I’ve never bought more than four or five books at the same time.

I could easily spend that much on books myself. Sounds like you got quite a bunch there! Happy reading!
Animal Farm, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Memoirs of a Geisha are wonderful. I hope you have a good time reading them! 1984 is the better book but I think Animal Farm is quick and good as well. I’m planning a book spree after Christmas (maybe?) if I can find some good deals.
Happy reading. π

Good books! I’ve read quite a few of them (Everybody Poops not being one of them, though, hehe). Enjoy them. I think reading binges are great. π
