Christmas Exchange 2015

8 years

With Christmas and the holidays approaching, I have decided to make an exchange post for anyone that may be interested to exchange cards or gifts via the post/snail mail. ??

The deadline for the exchange is November 9, 2015. So I then have time to print the cards and have everything organised.

Card Exchange
For Christmas Cards I will be sending my own designs (printed on gloss) as well as a personal letter or note. I have not designed the cards yet, but I hope to do that very soon. Purchased charms/embellishments and a small memo pad will also be included. Mainly flat things that will fit inside a standard postage letter.

Christmas Cards will be posted in the final week of November or the first week of December, 2015.

Gift Exchange
For gift exchanges the way that this will work is that I will purchase items (within the agreed budget) from your favourite store/s and have them shipped to you. Because of the rising postal costs in Australia it is much cheaper to buy items that are located in the same country as the stores.

For me: I like Owls, clouds, cute things, kawaii, animals, stationery. My favourite colours are blue, pink, white and rainbow. My favourite stores are Typo, Blippo and Smiggle however any Australian stores that sell cute things is completely fine ?.

Gift exchange items will be purchased in the first or second week of December 2015.

  1. Cool idea! I always used to love these. I sent a form for the card one. Thought that might be fun.

    1. Other then maybe this, no. Usually just give gifts to family.
    2. I’ve done similar exchanges in the past (like a secret santa) and usually if I send a card with the gifts, I’ve made them.
    3. To be happier!

  2. Lovely idea, Kya! I send cards that I buy because I don’t have the time or patience to make my own cards, especially since I send anywhere between 30-50 cards!

  3. It sounds like you have an awesome Christmas package set up for the exchange! I think it’s a smarter idea to buy from the stores within the same country and have it shipped from there. It’s cheaper and does the same thing at the end (reach the destination).

I am probably sending cards this year, but I’m not sure yet. I don’t have time these days so I would most likely buy them if anything. 2016… Can I buy a new car yet? XD. I don’t even want one for free, I just want to be able to afford one :’D.

    1. I find that it is the best way now. Last year I purchased gifts, and one was $60 to post, which was so crazy. I could buy them more gifts with that extra and probably get free postage from stores in their country.

I hope you can get a new car! 😀

  4. Aww, I would love to do this. But life is a bit up in the air at the moment and I don’t want to commit then fail and ruin someone’s gift or card experience.

  5. I joined the card exchange! 😀 I like to send cards to a special few. I but a set of cards, but I like to personalize my holiday cards. Last year, I made collages for the message.

  6. Awww this is awesome! Especially since your designs are so cute! I haven’t done cards for a long time now and I know it’s amazing to personalize them rather than do a mass sendout, but I don’t think I’d be able to do personal ones in time. Perhaps I will do something else nice and simple for my friendies!

My wish for 2016 is time management … because see above paragraph. XD

    1. Thank you. 🙂 That sounds like a great idea to do something for your friends. 🙂 I also hope you are able to manage time efficiently in 2016! 😀

  7. This sounds fun!!! Would love to try but I’m not sure how to ship internationally. Would have to check first before signing up, just in case!

    1. That’s alright. Sometimes postage internationally can be expensive. It costs me over $2 AUD just to post a letter. But at Christmas I don’t mind, because it can be nice to receive a card or something in the mail. 😀

  8. I’m not into cards much, because they make me feel incredibly awkward; I never know what to write. Even the shortest line sound corny and stupid when I write on it, so I stopped sending cards years ago, but I think it’s a good idea, as is the gift exchange; can’t wait to read about it. ^_^

By the way, Kya, I sent you a rather important email; let me know if you receive it. :]

  9. Are you sending cards or gifts this year?
I may send cards, but I have been thinking about limiting the amount of handmade cards I do.

Do you DIY or buy cards (if you send them)?
I DIY! I cannot remember the last time I bought them, but it was at least three years ago.

    Make a wish for 2016!
All the love and happiness forever. :3

  10. Oh wow, a Christmas Exchange! 😀
Unfortunately, I cannot join because I am low on cash at the moment…

But I think it’s a fun idea 🙂 Maybe I can participate next time.
